Ms. Flynn-Kozara is an associate in the Labor and Employment Department in the Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP where she focuses her practice on employment discrimination litigation.  In particular, Ms. Flynn-Kozara represents employers in lawsuits brought by current or former employees, alleging discrimination, contract and tort claims.  This includes single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff and collective and class actions. Ms. Flynn-Kozara alsohas experience in client advice and counseling, which includes counseling employers with legal issues that arise in hiring, firing, and managing the performance of employees.  She has extensive experience representing clients conducting reductions in force, including ensuring compliance with federal, state and local worker adjustment retraining and notification acts.  Ms. Flynn-Kozara also assists clients in other employment-related disputes, including non-compete litigation.

Ms. Flynn-Kozara has practiced in state and federal courts and local, state and federal agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  She has also represented employers in unemployment compensation proceedings.

Representative Engagements

  • Ms. Flynn-Kozara was seconded for more than a year to a major financial institution where she served as one of two employment lawyers in the U.S., with 20,000 employees across several states.  This included broad-based responsibilities, including counseling human resources professionals in various matters,  drafting employment agreements, drafting executive compensation agreements, negotiating separations of employment, and managing litigation.
