Ms. Kotlarski is a partner in the Labor and Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw’s Los Angeles office. She represents business enterprises throughout the United States in a broad range of industries including aerospace, construction, manufacturing, law firms, entertainment, private equity investment as well as financial and educational institutions.
She has 26 years of experience representing employers and management in a wide variety of employment matters. Ms. Kotlarski has extensive experience in both state and federal courts defending employment discrimination single and multi-plaintiff actions based upon age, national origin, race, pregnancy and disability as well as employment-related contract and tort claims. She has tried cases to verdict including claims for sexual harassment, disability discrimination and wrongful termination. In addition, she has substantial experience in arbitration consistently obtaining awards in favor of employers. Ms. Kotlarski frequently serves as outside counsel in connection with internal investigations and resolution of highly sensitive matters.

In addition to handling litigation matters, Ms. Kotlarski has an active counseling practice. She provides proactive, practical solutions assisting clients to avoid litigation and develop internal compliance initiatives. She regularly advises clients on a broad range of employment issues, including the interactive process and disability accommodation, leaves of absence, workplace investigations, performance management and workforce reductions. Ms. Kotlarski also conducts employee and management training, including harassment awareness training, leave of absence management training and performance management training.

Ms. Kotlarski also is a frequent speaker on a wide range of human resource issues. Her speaking engagements include presentations for the Society for Human Resource Management, PHIRA, The Employers Group and the National Institute of Business Management. Ms. Kotlarski serves as an instructor for UCLA’s Human Resources Management Certification Program.
