Biography
Ms. Palmer is a partner in the Litigation Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, where she practices commercial litigation and construction law. Ms. Palmer is experienced in the representation of regional, national and international corporations in complex commercial disputes including breach of contract, fraud, negligence, and RICO claims, defamation, corporate liability and real estate matters. Her experience spans all forms of dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration, as well as litigation in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies. Ms. Palmer also devotes a significant portion of her practice to providing advice and counseling to clients on the resolution of business disputes.
Ms. Palmer also has substantial experience in the litigation and resolution of commercial construction disputes arising from a wide variety of projects including office complexes, condominiums, hotels, airports, medical facilities, and government buildings. Her experience includes disputes over non-payment, project management, construction delays and defects, REAs, liens, and professional negligence claims involving design professionals. Ms. Palmer has extensive experience in the arbitration of disputes before tribunals such as the American Arbitration Association and has successfully mediated numerous disputes involving complex construction projects and commercial contracts. She regularly engages in the negotiation and drafting of contracts for companies ranging from prime contractors and design professionals to public and private owners and developers for a wide variety of projects.
Much of Ms. Palmer’s practice is devoted to counseling clients on risk management, contract negotiation and administration, project management and dispute avoidance. She provides day-to-day counseling to clients to assist with the management of their business and to resolve business disputes without litigation.
Ms. Palmer is a frequent lecturer on commercial and construction law topics, including electronic discovery, preservation of electronic documentation, insurance and risk management issues, contract provisions and contract negotiation.
Ms. Palmer was selected as a 2010 Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star.
