Ms. Zee is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. As a member of the Labor & Employment Department and Single Plaintiff Litigation and Wage and Hour Practice Groups, she has substantial experience in defending employers against class action and single-plaintiff claims for alleged wage and hour violations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and violation of public policy, as well as workplace torts, including defamation, emotional distress, and interference with contractual relations. Ms. Zee has taken and defended numerous depositions and conducted several factual investigations. She frequently appears and argues on behalf of clients at state and federal courts. She also has extensive trial experience and has second-chaired multiple trials.

Ms. Zee also has traditional labor experience, which includes handling union grievances, arbitrations, representation cases and defending ULP charges before the NLRB.

Ms. Zee was named one of Southern California’s “Rising Stars” by the Law & Politics “Super Lawyers” publication in 2009 and 2010.

Representative Engagements

  • Ms. Zee obtained a complete defense verdict in a two-plaintiff wage and hour bench trial against claims for unpaid overtime, unpaid wages, and missed meal and rest breaks. In connection with the case, Ms. Zee took and defended several depositions, researched and drafted summary judgment motions and the necessary motions for trial.
  • Ms. Zee participated in the successful defense of a film editing company in a single plaintiff lawsuit for disability discrimination and defamation. Ms. Zee not only conducted several witness investigations and defended depositions in connection with the matter, she researched and drafted a successful summary judgment motion. Ms. Zee had the plaintiff’s claims dismissed in their entirety.
  • Ms. Zee prevailed in the defense of a major health provider in a discrimination, harassment and retaliation lawsuit. Ms. Zee prepared a successful summary judgment motion and the court entered judgment in favor of the employer.
  • Ms. Zee participated in the defense of a major cable company in a disability discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit. Ms. Zee was involved in all aspects of the litigation and defended depositions, prepared dispositive motions and pretrial and trial motions.
