Biography
Mr. Braunstein is a senior associate in Seyfarth's Litigation Department, and is based in the San Francisco office.
Mr. Braunstein represents local, national, and multinational clients in the insurance, financial services, real estate, construction, health care, employee benefits, and global defense industries. Mr. Braunstein has successfully litigated individual and/or class class action claims for alleged breach of contract, rescission, reformation, trade secret misappropriation, corporate raiding, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference with existing contracts, conspiracy, aiding and abetting, constructive trust, bad faith, declaratory and injunctive relief, subrogation, restitution, indemnity, fraud, accounting, misrepresentation, concealment, negligence, conversion, breach of consumer warranties, site development and lessor/lessee disputes, violations of California's Unfair Competition Law (UCL) and Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA), Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPP), and claims under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Mr. Braunstein has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts throughout California, including jury trials and appeals, and in arbitration proceedings before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Mr. Braunstein was recognized by Northern California Super Lawyers as a business litigation "Rising Star," an exclusive designation awarded to only 2.5% of qualified attorneys.
Mr. Braunstein is actively involved in his community. Among other pursuits, Mr. Braunstein leads the San Francisco office's participation in Food From the Bar, a joint collaboration with the San Francisco Food Bank (SFFB) and the Bar Association of San Francisco to fight hunger and feed low-income seniors, children, and working poor families. In 2010 and 2011, Seyfarth received the prestigious Chief Volunteer Recruiters Award for outstanding leadership in volunteer service.
