Biography
José Martin Jara is an ERISA project manager in the New York office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mr. Jara advises clients with respect to their activities in transactional and regulatory matters and the application of ERISA’s fiduciary standards and prohibited transaction provisions. He routinely represents clients before the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration where he was formerly a Senior Pension Law Specialist and Investigator. Prior to that, Mr. Jara was a Complex Claims Director at AIG, where he directed from inception to conclusion ERISA class action suits, specifically relating to “Employer Stock Drops” and cash balance plans.Education
