Biography
Mr. Lutz is a senior counsel in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He focuses his practice on intellectual property prosecution. Mr. Lutz’s experience includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications, including patent re-examination and reissue; litigation support and opinions regarding infringement analysis, patent validity and freedom to operate; foreign and domestic trademark prosecution and oppositions; establishing patent incentive programs and policies; designing patent prosecution programs; and preparing and negotiating patent license agreements. He has worked with diverse technologies including telecommunications (such as 3GPP, 3GPP2 and WiMAX systems), digital and wireless communications, circuits, compilers, computer hardware and software, computer networks, computer graphics, consumer electronics, cryptography, data mining, digital and wireless communications, electro and mechanical devices, electronic and computer systems, error control systems, fiber-optics, IC design and fabrication, memory devices, mobile platform devices, and processor and chipset architecture.
Previously, Mr. Lutz worked as a Senior Software Engineer in the information technology branch of the largest managed care organization in the United States.
Mr. Lutz is a member of the Mexican American Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association and ProVisors. He is also fluent in Spanish.
