Biography

Ms. Wethall is a senior associate in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.  Ms. Wethall has extensive experience in health and welfare plans, including HIPAA privacy and security compliance, subrogation and claims reimbursement issues, coordination of benefits, state and local compliance issues, wellness programs and consumer driven health care initiatives, and health care continuation coverage.  Ms. Wethall represents clients in front of Health and Human Services, Center for Medicare and Medicaid with regard to Medicare retiree subsidies.  She also represents client in front Office of Civil Rights with regard to HIPAA privacy/security violations.

Ms. Wethall also advises employers on a broad range of qualified retirement matters, including counseling employers on the design, implementation, and administration of qualified retirement plans, including cash balance plans, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), as well as employee stock purchase plans, and fringe benefit plans. 

Ms. Wethall has substantial experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions.  She has represented clients in a variety of corporate transactions, including withdrawal liability issues.

She represents clients in ruling requests and controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
