Mr. Fritz is an associate in the Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.  As a litigator, he represents clients in a range of employment disputes, including complex discrimination class actions, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) pattern or practice lawsuits, wage and hour class and collective actions, and single-plaintiff discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation actions.  Mr. Fritz’s expertise covers the full scope of claims and theories arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). His experience spans the entire spectrum of litigation, including discrimination charges, position statements, pre-trial investigation, settlement negotiation, fact and expert discovery, trial, and post-trial appeals. 

A solutions-oriented individual, outside of the courtroom Mr. Fritz believes strongly in the power of proactive problem-solving, and devotes a considerable portion of his practice counseling employers on how to find practical solutions to their business quandaries.  Mr. Fritz regularly counsels clients on a wide range of employment issues, including ADA and protected class accommodations, personnel and administrative policies and handbooks, discrimination avoidance, drug testing, FMLA and leave entitlements, retaliation, sexual harassment, termination, unemployment and post-employment benefits, wage/hour issues, and workers’ compensation.

Mr. Fritz is extremely active and established in the disability community.  He speaks extensively on various aspects of disability, diversity, disability education, empowerment, and the importance of workplaces that reflect the society in which we live.  He is a member of Seyfarth Shaw’s nationally recognized specialty Disability Access and Defense Team, where he assists his clients through issues related to architectural barriers, website accessibility, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines compliance, effective communication, service animals, and other public accommodations matters arising under Title II and III of the ADA, the Fair Housing Act (FHA), and state and local disability access laws.  Mr. Fritz’s disability access work is not limited to public accommodations.  He also works with school districts to resolve complex special education matters as they pertain to students with disabilities and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), due process issues in the academic setting, and student discipline.  

He has been quoted by news sources such as Forbes, Corporate Counsel, and LXBN, and his work has appeared in publications such as the Society for Human Resource Management and the Illinois Alliance of Administrators of Special Education.  Mr. Fritz has been recognized nationally by the American Bar Association as someone who is "transforming the legal profession."
