Biography
Mr. Sinclair is a partner in the Boston office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including representation of information technology clients in disputes arising out of technology agreements such as managed web hosting contracts, license agreements, and software development contracts. He also handles a broad range of financial and consumer related litigation matters, including defense of class action cases. He specializes in the prosecution and defense of cases involving claims of unfair and deceptive business practices and representation of foreign clients in lawsuits and commercial arbitrations pending in the United States. Mr. Sinclair’s recent experience includes serving as lead defense counsel in In Re Alabanza Migration Litigation, a national consumer class action case pending in Maryland, and representation of a major charitable foundation in domestic and Cayman Island litigation involving the Bayou Hedge Fund Ponzi scheme. He also represents companies in international commercial arbitrations, non-compete and trade secret cases. His pro bono efforts are dedicated to the representation of local not-for-profit organizations.
Before joining Seyfarth Shaw, Mr. Sinclair devoted several years to work on legal reform and civil society development projects throughout Central and Eastern Europe. In 1990, he served as a Lecturer on Jurisprudence at the Charles University Faculty of Law in Prague, Czech Republic. He also implemented projects in the region with the American Bar Association Central and East European Law Initiative, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Center for Not-For-Profit Law. Through this experience, Mr. Sinclair gained understanding of European civil law systems.
