People: Lou Antonacci, Attorney
Biography
Mr. Antonacci is a staff attorney in the Commercial Litigation practice group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.
Mr. Antonacci focuses his practice on Government Contracts and Commercial Litigation, where he has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. As a Civilian Honors Attorney for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mr. Antonacci advised the United States on legal issues pertaining to the construction of chemical demilitarization facilities in both the U.S. and the Russian Federation. In that role, he presented a paper addressing best practices in multinational construction contracting at the Chemical Weapons Convention in Edinburgh, Scotland. In addition, Mr. Antonacci assisted in developing reconstruction contracting policies throughout the Gulf Region Division while on assignment in Baghdad, Iraq.
In private practice, Mr. Antonacci has litigated government contracts and other commercial cases before numerous state and federal courts and boards of contract appeals, as well as bid protests before the Government Accountability Office. In one such matter, he successfully investigated, developed and prosecuted a civil fraud and conspiracy case in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Mr. Antonacci has represented clients in arbitrations and mediations as well. In addition, he has extensive experience managing large-scale electronic document productions, in both federal investigations and disputes between private parties.
While in law school, Mr. Antonacci was a managing editor for the Wisconsin International Law Journal and a member of the Wisconsin Moot Court Board. He worked as an honors intern for both the U.S. Department of Justice and the General Counsel of the U.S. Air Force in Washington, D.C., and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Lynn Adelman in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Mr. Antonacci's pro bono practice includes work for The List Project, where he successfully represented an Iraqi citizen seeking refugee status under the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.
