Biography
Mr. Hansen is senior counsel in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and is a member of Seyfarth’s Corporate Department and the firm’s Litigation Department. Mr. Hansen’s practice focuses upon trust and estates litigation, as well as complex commercial litigation.
Mr. Hansen’s trust and estates practice includes representation of clients in a broad array of trial and pre-trial matters, including defense of fiduciaries, resolution of disputes between beneficiaries and trustees, securing appointment and removal of conservators, defense of and challenges to estate plans, and protection of the elderly and infirm from abuse, particularly financial abuse. Mr. Hansen also provides pre-litigation counseling for clients seeking to minimize their litigation exposure.
In addition, Mr. Hansen has extensive experience (before, during and after trial) representing clients in complex business disputes, both domestic and international. His complex commercial litigation practice has included matters involving agreements to purchase communications satellites and aircraft, foreign distributorships, technology transfers, and industrial supplier relationships. He has also represented clients in numerous products liability matters. Such cases have ranged from relatively small suits arising out of alleged design or manufacturing defects to litigation resulting from mass disasters, such as crashes of commercial aircraft.
