As Managing Director of Seyfarth’s Immigration Compliance Center of Excellence (ICC), Ms. Kersey provides advice, project management, and consulting services to organizations of all sizes to help them avoid civil and criminal penalties, as well as ancillary damage to reputation, caused by vulnerabilities and weaknesses in their immigration-related hiring and record-keeping practices.

Ms. Kersey provides the following services:

  • Random and full I-9 audits (both automated “diagnostic” audits, and comprehensive reviews by trained I-9 auditors)
  • I-9 error remediation (including on-site remediation)
  • I-9 completion and audit training
  • real-time, moment-of-hire I-9 audits and certifications
  • E-Verify counseling and implementation
  • Immigration corporate policy development
  • Electronic I-9 vendor selection and management
  • Government investigation preparedness planning
  • Hot-Line assistance with I-9, E-Verify, and related employment authorization issues as they arise
  • Defense of employers in government investigations and prosecutions

Ms. Kersey also partners with businesses and organizations to obtain nonimmigrant and immigrant visas for foreign national employees.  She works with individuals to obtain, extend, amend, and change nonimmigrant status (with particular focus on E, F, H, J, K, L, O, R, and TN status) and assists clients in obtaining lawful permanent residence in the U.S. through applications for labor certification, petitions for outstanding researchers and aliens of extraordinary ability, and international manager petitions.  Ms. Kersey also has experience with temporary protected status (TPS), asylum, and family-based immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions.

Ms. Kersey is conversationally fluent in the Spanish language.
