Biography

Mr. Urias is an associate in the San Francisco office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group.  His practice includes all aspects of state and federal employment litigation, including employment discrimination claims under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, the California Family Rights Act, Title VII, the Family & Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Age Discrimination and Employment Act.  Mr. Urias also litigates single-plaintiff, class and collective actions concerning violations of the California Labor Code and/or the Fair Labor Standards Act.

In addition to state and federal litigation, his experience includes handling arbitration of employment cases; Equal Employment Opportunity Commission investigations; internal investigations regarding whistleblower claims and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance; and administrative proceedings before the New York Department of Labor, the California Department of Labor and the California Employment Development Department. 

Mr. Urias also regularly provides counseling and advice to clients regarding the legal implications of employment decisions and policies.
