Todd Hunt is a Senior Counsel in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.  He is experienced in all aspects of civil litigation, from early evaluation and resolution and from investigation through trial.  Todd has handled numerous civil rights and access discrimination claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA Titles II and III), the Rehabilitation Act and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act in addition to litigating claims of trade secret misappropriation related to commercial disputes and government contract matters.  Todd has represented numerous restaurants, financial institutions, educational institutions, medical facilities, and service station owners/operators, as well as industrial machinery, heavy equipment, elevator/escalator, chemical, and automobile manufacturers and technology companies in all levels of litigation.  Todd has also advised and represented several employers in appeals of Cal/OSHA citations resulting from work place injuries and fatalities.

Representative Engagements

  • Obtained summary judgment in a civil rights case in Los Angeles, California brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act involving allegations of racial slurs.
  • Obtained defense verdict following three week, commercial breach of contract and fraud  bench trial in Santa Monica, California involving the sale of a business.
  • Obtained directed verdict in personal injury trial in Torrance, California involving an elevator accident.
  • Successfully moved to have a class decertified in a litigation matter pending in Los Angeles, California involving “in the field” private investigators and obtained summary judgment as to one of the named plaintiffs.
  • Defeated class certification in a civil rights, accessibility case in the Northern District of California for a major hotel and golf course company.
  • Successfully moved to have a class decertified in a litigation matter pending in Orange County, California involving a golf course’s participation in the PGA’s and LPGA’s “Women’s Golf Month” promotion.
