Mr. Miles is a senior counsel in the Labor and Employment Department in the Atlanta office of Seyfarth Shaw where he concentrates in all areas of employment litigation.  He has extensive experience representing both private and government employers throughout the country in litigation matters under  federal and state statutes, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Equal Pay Act.  Mr. Miles has defended employer in all types of employment litigation from single plaintiff cases to class action lawsuits. 

Beyond his experience in litigation matters, Mr. Miles routinely provides advice to employers about the practical and legal implications of everyday employment decisions, including implementing effective workplace policies and practices, disciplining and terminating employees, conducting sensitive workplace investigations, and preventing discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace.

Mr. Miles has tried several cases to verdict and argued numerous motions in both federal and state courts.  Prior to rejoining Seyfarth in 2011, he served as a senior prosecutor with the Fulton County District Attorneys’ Office and served as an assistant county attorney with the Fulton County Attorneys’ Office.

Mr. Miles is heavily involved in both the American Bar Association and the Georgia Bar.  He was recently accepted into the 2012 Leadership Academy of the Georgia Bar’s Young Lawyers Division.
