A recent study of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration reports that almost 68% of adults who illegally use drugs and most adults who engage in binge and heavy drinking are employed full-time and part-time. Drug and alcohol abuse has been reported to result in increased workplace accidents; increased workers’ compensation claims; higher medical costs; increased tardiness, absenteeism, and turnover; decreased productivity; and low morale.  Employers who have implemented successful drug and alcohol programs have reported improvements in these areas. In addition, certain employers (such as government contractors and companies employing CDL drivers) may be required by law to implement drug free workplace and/or drug testing programs.

Join us to learn about best practices and federal and state legal requirements in implementing and enforcing a successful drug and alcohol policy and program for your workplace.
