Always wanted to get to a Seyfarth Labor and Employment program but don’t want the hassle of coming downtown?  Well, we’re bringing the program to the 'burbs!

Thorny accommodation issues causing you heartburn?  How to push back on a difficult accommodation request keeping you awake at night?  You got questions?  We’ve got answers!

Accommodation requests can come in many forms and in many contexts: disability and medical leaves, LGBTQ, religion,  pregnancy, and VESSA/domestic violence ... the list is (literally) endless.  Please join us for an informative panel discussion that will address employee requests for accommodations related to time off, breaks, leave, modification of work areas, alternative schedules and more.

Along with telling some war stories -- the panel will discuss how “know it when you hear it;” how to respond to requests (no matter how outrageous); what to (and what not to) say; recognizing when (and discussing how) to get more information; navigating the interactive process; follow up; and (because we’re lawyers) DOCUMENTATION!

We will also provide examples of legally compliant best practices for managing when the accommodation cannot be made, how to communicate whether an accommodation has been approved or not, and how to discuss alternative accommodations.

What else you ask??  As parting gifts, all attendees will walk away with a general accommodations process checklist and a general checklist for the interactive discussion. (And hopefully a little more peace of mind!)  Join us in Oak Brook.
