Since 2008, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has been amended once, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) has been amended twice, and the Department of Labor has issued new FMLA regulations. These developments expand employee entitlements (such as adding two new categories of Family Military Leave) and significantly change the way employers should be handling requests for disability accommodations and requests for leaves of absence.
Please join us for an informative briefing where we will discuss:
- The recent changes in the ADA and FMLA;
- What the changes mean from an employer's perspective;
- Potential changes to the ADA and FMLA regulations in the near future; and
- Practical advice on handling the leave requests HR professionals receive every day, including by those intent on abusing the system.
