Please join Seyfarth Shaw’s Robert Fisher and Alison Silveira for an informative webinar reviewing what employers need to know and how to plan in advance of the Act’s April 1, 2018 effective date.

On July 27, 2017, Governor Baker signed the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, expanding the Massachusetts anti-discrimination statute to specifically prohibit discrimination against individuals due to pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions (including breastfeeding), and to require reasonable accommodations when necessary.

This session will provide detailed insight on what the Pregnant Worker Fairness Act will mean for your company. Understanding the impact of this law, and what to expect before it takes effect, will help your company safeguard its most valuable assets, support its workforce, and help manage the risks associated with the needs of pregnant employees.

Some of the specific topics to be covered include:

  • Detailed overview of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act
  • Implication for employers once this law goes into effect
  • Effects on accommodation policies and procedures
