Corporate Counsel magazine's 3rd Annual Controlling Legal Costs conference is geared towards any corporate counsel feeling pressure to reduce legal expenditures, both within the company and with outside firms and service providers.

Labor & Employment chair Lisa Damon, along with Gary Chadick of Rockwell Collins, will present "Re-engineering the Legal Department." In-house legal departments are increasingly required to produce greater results: better, more predictable business outcomes, improved budgeting and efficiency, and enhanced service delivery for internal stakeholders. As a result, in-house legal teams are developing innovative approaches and driving fundamental, systemic changes to their department's operations, which can often include the selection, management and evaluation of outside counsel and the pricing of outside counsel services.  This case-study session will follow the journey of the Rockwell Collins Office of the General Counsel (OGC) and its use of Lean Six Sigma principles to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the OGC's relationships with the outside firms it engages.
