Biography
Mr. Saunders is an intellectual property Of Counsel in the Boston office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He specializes in representing emerging medical technology, biotechnology/genetic engineering and pharmaceutical concerns, addressing patent prosecution, patent strategy and Intellectual Property licensing matters, and ANDA Paragraph IV opinions. He is also experienced in university technology transfer matters including developing university policies, negotiating on behalf of universities, and negotiating on behalf of acquiring companies.
For over 20 years Mr. Saunders has worked with early-stage entrepreneurs in the biomedical field. He has advised and coordinated efforts including intellectual property strategy development, patent portfolio preparation and management, and implementation of confidentiality and employment agreements addressing intellectual property rights. His patent practice further includes assessment of patent landscapes, free-to-market opinions, and strategic partnering evaluation.
Trademark and copyright matters are also important areas of practice. This includes cybersquatting domain name disputes. He is particularly active in jewelry design disputes. He was named in 2004 as a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” by the publishers of Law & Politics.
