Biography
Carrie J. Grove, a senior associate in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation group in Los Angeles office has over nine years experience as an ERISA attorney. Ms. Grove’s practice focuses on multiemployer pension and benefit plans, and includes the areas of fiduciary responsibility, benefit claims, prohibited transactions, agreements with third-party providers, and withdrawal liability and merger and spinoff issues. Ms. Grove is responsible for negotiating investment management agreements for separate accounts and group trusts. She also routinely reviews private equity and hedge fund limited partnership agreements and related documentation, and negotiates side letters that contain provisions advising clients regarding both tax qualified retirement plans such as defined benefit plans, profit-sharing plans and 401(k) arrangements and nonqualified plans such as deferred compensation plans, stock option plans and stock purchase plans, as well as welfare benefit plans. Ms. Grove also has experience with advising employers on the topics of cafeteria plans, employment agreements and severance agreements.
Ms. Grove is the co-author of What to Do With Post-Death QDROs, published in the September 2006 issue of the International Foundation Benefits & Compensation Digest.
