Biography
Mr. Hill represents employers in all aspects of Labor & Employment law, including class-action wage and hour litigation, employment discrimination litigation, employee contract disputes, employee trade secret and unfair competition matters, wrongful discharge cases, union disputes, and other employment-related matters.
Mr. Hill’s practice focuses on the defense of collective class actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state laws in federal and state courts. Mr. Hill has represented employers in the hospitality, retail, office services, maritime, staffing, education, and technology industries in collective actions. He also provides advice to corporations on compliance with state and federal wage and hour statutes.
In 2006, Mr. Hill was part of the trial team that obtained the first defense jury verdict in a wage and hour class action in California. The Daily Journal named this case one of the top 10 defense jury verdicts in California for the year 2006.
Mr. Hill also counsels management in human resources and labor relations matters, including employee hiring and discipline, sexual harassment, workplace privacy, Family and Medical Leave, the ADA, employee handbooks, affirmative action, and California Labor Code compliance.
