Biography
Ms. Larkin is a partner in the Intellectual Property practice group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She has more than 25 years of experience in domestic and international trademark, copyright, unfair competition matters, and related litigation. She is involved in all areas of trademark and copyright prosecution, licensing, enforcement and protection. She has prosecuted over 1000 U.S. trademark applications and thousands of foreign trademark applications in most countries around the world. She has developed, implemented and coordinated worldwide enforcement and anti-counterfeiting programs on behalf of major entertainment properties.
In addition, Ms. Larkin has extensive experience in United States Patent and Trademark Office opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Ms. Larkin also has substantial experience counseling clients on Internet issues and has prosecuted numerous UDRP/ICANN proceedings.
Ms. Larkin's clients include major entertainment companies, sports teams, restaurant chains, personal care product companies, and U.S. and foreign entities involved in a wide variety of industries, including automotive products, aerospace and defense industries.
Ms. Larkin began her legal career as a Trademark Examining Attorney with the U.S. Trademark Office, where she was president of the Trademark Society. Ms. Larkin is active in a number of professional organizations, and has served as Director of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association (LAIPLA).
Ms. Larkin presently serves on New York University's Alumni Association Board of Directors. She also is a member of NYU's President's Council/California Council.
For almost 20 years, she was a member of the U.S. Commerce Department’s Advisory Committee for Trademark Affairs. She is consistently listed in the Guide to the World’s Leading Trademark Law Practitioners, Who’s Who Legal-The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, and related publications. In 2007, Ms. Larkin was voted one of the “Best of the Best”—among the top 25 trademark professionals in the U.S. and was a Southern California “Super Lawyer.”
