Biography

Mr. Shartin is a partner advising employers in virtually every aspect of labor and employment law, including collective bargaining, arbitrations, wrongful termination litigation, and issues arising under state and federal statutes, such as the National Labor Relations Act, the 1964 and 1991 Civil Rights Acts, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, wage-hour laws, the California Agricultural Labor Relations Act, and the Immigration Reform and Control Act. Mr. Shartin has regularly advised employers in a variety of industries, including agriculture, electronics, semiconductor and other high-tech businesses, warehousing and trucking, light and heavy manufacturing, newspaper and other media, hospitality and others.

As co-chair of the Program Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the California State Bar Association, Mr. Shartin has participated in programs regarding Whistleblower litigation, qui tam actions, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
