Biography

Mr. Long is a partner in the Litigation Department at the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, where he handles a broad array of civil disputes. His focus is primarily on the areas of complex commercial litigation, general business and contract litigation, unfair competition and false advertising law, trade secrets and restrictive covenants, products liability, and real estate disputes. Mr. Long practices in both federal and state courts, and has extensive experience in complex commercial and products liability class action, multi-party, and coordinated litigation. He handles matters from pre-litigation investigation and resolution to provisional remedies, discovery, and all forms of motion practice through trial and appellate proceedings. Mr. Long also has experience in judgment enforcement.

Some of Mr. Long’s representative matters include representation of a leading internet provider in complex litigation involving contract and unfair business practices claims; representation of a leading retailer/e-tailer in complex litigation involving unfair business practices and false advertising claims; representation of a high-end national food market in complex litigation involving unfair business practices, unfair competition, and false advertising claims concerning sales and marketing in California; representation of a national convenience store chain in complex litigation involving unfair business practices claims relating to collection of state sales tax; representation of a supplier in state coordinated latex products litigation concerning latex allergies; and representation of a large aerospace insurance company in litigation involving claims for misappropriation of trade secrets, breaches of fiduciary duty, and unfair competition.
