Biography
Fred Sanderson is a partner in the Wage & Hour Litigation Practice Group in Seyfarth Shaw's Sacramento office. Mr. Sanderson specializes in complex wage and hour litigation.
Mr. Sanderson has defended numerous employers throughout California in individual and class action wage and hour cases under California law, as well as under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Mr. Sanderson has successfully defeated class certification multiple times at different stages of litigation, and on appeal. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Sanderson provides day-to-day advice and counseling on wage and hour issues and other employment or labor issues. He also has significant experience in the areas of single plaintiff wrongful termination, sexual harassment and employment discrimination litigation in federal and state courts.
Mr. Sanderson is a frequent speaker on wage and hour topics to a wide variety of groups, and has been a part time professor of Employment Law at the University of the Pacific, Eberhardt School of Business. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Sanderson served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer aboard the P-3C Orion aircraft. He currently is affiliated with the Navy Reserve as a Lieutenant Commander.
