Biography
Ms. Vidmar is a partner in the Environmental, Safety and Toxic Torts practice group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She specializes in compliance, transactional and litigation matters in the environmental and regulatory context. Her national practice focuses on providing clients with practical and strategic advice consistent with their business objectives. She represents a wide variety of companies, including utilities, retailers, manufacturers, mining companies, and property owners, investors and managers. Ms. Vidmar’s practice includes designing and implementing environmental compliance programs, advising clients on regulatory responsibilities and permitting, and performing risk analysis and due diligence for corporate and real estate transactions. She has managed complex Superfund and remediation matters, and has defended environmental claims brought by governmental bodies and citizen groups. Ms. Vidmar has over 16 years of experience in the redevelopment of contaminated properties.
Ms. Vidmar has extensive experience in developing and implementing waste management, recycling and disposal programs, and hazardous substance handling and exposure evaluations. Ms. Vidmar also advises major corporations on Proposition 65 litigation (including citizen suits) and compliance matters; representative cases include electronic components, leaded dinnerware and plumbing products.
Ms. Vidmar’s expertise has been recognized by Chambers & Partners USA and the Leading Lawyers Network. She is AV Peer Review Rated, Martindale Hubbell’s highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards. Ms. Vidmar is an Illinois Super Lawyer (Illinois' top lawyers as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics), and Lawdragon magazine named her to its “New Stars, New Worlds” list of 500 lawyers who are “carving the path to the new heights of the legal profession”.
Ms. Vidmar is a frequent lecturer on environmental topics and served for many years on the faculty of the Institute for Applied Management and Law. She is an author of several articles and handbooks covering a wide array of topics, including closure and corrective action, storm water management, building management issues, and environmental audit privilege and immunity.
