Biography

Catherine A. Evans has specialized in employment and labor law since 1988. She received her law degree from the University of Utah College of Law. Following graduation, she clerked for the Honorable J. Thomas Greene in the United States District Court, District of Utah. From 1988 through 1995, Ms. Evans practiced law with the firm of Quinn, Emanuel & Urquhart. In 1995, Ms. Evans joined Loral Corporation as in-house counsel with responsibility for handling all employment-related disputes in California. Subsequently, Ms. Evans was Associate General Counsel for Lockheed Martin.

In 2001, Ms. Evans joined Seyfarth Shaw LLP where she continues to defend companies against employment claims, including discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation and breach of contract.

Ms. Evans has successfully defended corporate employers in jury and bench trials in both state and federal court. Ms. Evans also has substantial experience with binding arbitrations and mediations. In addition, she has successfully handled numerous appellate matters including the published decision of Marks v. Loral.
