Biography

Daniel Klein is a partner in the Labor and Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw’s Boston office. Mr. Klein represents employers in litigation involving non-competition and contract disputes and the defense of claims of wage and hour violations, breach of contract, discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, defamation and other common law and statutory claims. Mr. Klein practices extensively before state and federal courts, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Mr. Klein’s litigation practice covers the full spectrum of litigation services, including litigation management, settlement, motion practice, jury trials and appeals before federal and state courts and administrative agencies.

Mr. Klein also counsels clients regarding compliance with federal and state employment laws and trade-secrets protection strategies; he negotiates and drafts employment contracts, severance agreements, non- competition, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, personnel policies and company handbooks.

Mr. Klein lectures regularly on a variety of employment law topics for human resource specialists and in-house counsel, including presentations on behalf of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and the Northeast Human Resources Association. Mr. Klein served as a legal intern at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. In 2005, 2006, and 2007, Boston Magazine and Law and Politics named Mr. Klein one of Massachusetts’ “Super Lawyer Rising Stars.”
