Biography

Ms. Sloane represents and counsels employers in all areas of employment law, including state and federal wage and hour, discrimination and harassment matters, personnel issues such as coaching employees and documenting performance, non-discrimination and harassment, and leaves of absence. She has defended employers in proceedings before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Labor Commissioner, and state and federal courts.

Ms. Sloane has successfully litigated and obtained dismissal, as well as favorably resolved, numerous cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, age, race, gender, national origin, and sexual orientation discrimination, and claims of wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation and breach of contract. Her broad experience with wage and hour matters involves claims relating to overtime, meal and rest breaks, misclassification, and improper wage statements as well as matters adjudicated under Business and Professions Code section 17200.

In 2004 Ms. Sloane was an extern with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Administrative Law Division, and in 2002 she was an extern in the Chambers of Judge Alarcon in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
