Biography
Laura J. Maechtlen is an associate in the San Francisco office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Her practice includes representing management in the litigation of various labor and employment matters including wage and hour, wrongful termination, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, traditional labor law, as well as other labor and employment law issues. She also performs advise and counsel work in these same areas. She has represented management before California state and federal courts, the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, the National Labor Relations Board, the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board, and other various state administrative agencies.
Ms. Maechtlen’s experience also includes the defense of major wage and hour and discrimination class actions as well as the defense of employers in a variety of claims arising out of alleged violations of the California Labor Code and the FLSA. She has handled class action employment cases for a variety of clients in the telecommunications, retail and finance industries. She also has significant discovery experience in complex class actions.
