Biography
Mr. Stone is a partner in Seyfarth Shaw LLP's Boston and Los Angeles offices concentrating his practice in real estate, including all aspects of acquisition, financing, development, leasing and sale of commercial, industrial and residential properties.
Mr. Stone frequently represents for-profit and non-profit owners, lenders, contractors, developers and investors in the acquisition, management and disposition of real estate, in mortgage loan transactions, or as landlord or tenant in lease and sublease transactions, including ground leases, building, warehouse, office space, store, parking garage and telecommunications facility leases, in new construction and reuse of property. He is often involved in drafting and negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, brokers' listing agreements, construction contracts, loan commitments, mortgages, notes, leases and other real estate documents, and in counseling clients on use of real estate assets. His practice includes restructuring and revision of mortgage loan and lease transactions, and real estate due diligence for corporate acquisitions and mergers. He has also coordinated the development of standardized real estate documents for clients having multi-state operations.
A considerable portion of his practice involves drafting, analysis and negotiation of real estate title documents, including easements, air rights, options, licenses, operations agreements and land covenants, conditions and restrictions, and review of title insurance commitments, policies and endorsements.
