Biography

Ms. Hughes is an associate representing employers in all areas of employment litigation, including lawsuits brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Civil Rights Act of 1871 (§ 1981), the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, state fair employment actions and wrongful discharge actions. She has also advised employers in various aspects of employment law and human resources, including employee discipline, sexual harassment investigations and prevention, reductions in force, the Family Medical Leave Act, employee handbooks, employment applications, and employment contracts. Ms. Hughes also represents employers in connection with traditional labor relation matters, including representation proceedings, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices and arbitrations. In addition, Ms. Hughes has represented clients in Fair Housing Act matters before the Department of Housing and Urban Development and various state human rights agencies.
