Biography
Ms. Bateman is of counsel in the Washington D.C. office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, practicing government contracts law. Since 1980, she has represented contractors before federal, state, and local courts and administrative agencies in cases involving all aspects of the contracting process. In recent years, Ms. Bateman has focused on commercial product sales, service contracting, and federal contract compliance. She has represented supply and service contractors in more than 75 bid protests before federal, state, and local forums.
Ms. Bateman is a Senior Editor of The Government Contract Compliance Handbook, now in its fourth edition, which is published by Thomson West. She also lectures on government contract compliance topics for Federal Publications Inc.
Ms. Bateman is actively involved in her community. She has served as Chair of an elected Advisory Neighborhood Commission in Washington, D.C., has been the General Counsel of a local business association, and is a founding member of a volunteer organization that has raised $18 million to build a waterfront park.
