Joseph H. Herron

Biography

Mr. Herron is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He has worked in a variety of areas involving Intellectual Property law including patent and trademark prosecution and litigation. In addition to preparing and prosecuting patent applications, Mr. Herron has also been involved in complex reissue and reexamination proceedings for medical devices and other technologies. He has also assisted in appealing a patent infringement/Fifth Amendment takings claim against the U.S. Government.

Mr. Herron has worked with a variety technologies, helping clients procure business results from technical innovation. He has significant experience in a variety of arts including fuel cells and reformers, chemicals and rubber chemistry, protective equipment, medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Herron worked as a Chemical Engineer researching Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells, including Direct Methanol Fuel Cells and membrane design. He was also involved in fuel cell stack design and optimization and fuel reformer design.
