Biography

A partner in Seyfarth Shaw LLP's Atlanta office, Mr. Myers' practice focuses on intellectual property and technology business matters. While regularly assisting clients in resolving infringement claims and other disputes related to intellectual property, Mr. Myers works primarily in intellectual property and and technology transactional contexts. He has substantial experience in the structuring and negotiation of license, development, distribution, and other transactions involving software, technology, databases, patents, trademarks, and copyrights. He also has expertise in trademark prosecution and related matters, and manages a significant portfolio of international, federal and state trademark registrations and applications.

Mr. Myers also specializes in the development of corporate intellectual property policies, practices and contracting forms; provision of corporate training to executives, software developers, R&D personnel, and sales and marketing staff regarding intellectual property issues; and assisting clients with brand development and expansion strategy. Finally, Mr. Myers provides industry-focused representation specifically to software companies, including software company M&A transactions, licensing and ASP contracting, and open source matters.

While in law school, Mr. Myers authored: Speaking Frankly about Copyright Infringement on Computer Bulletin Boards: Lessons to be Learned from Frank Music, Netcom, and The White Paper, 49 Vand. L. Rev. 439 (1996).
