Biography

Ms. Joffe is of counsel with broad-based Labor and Employment Law experience. Her practice focuses on employment counseling, employment training and employment litigation, including claims of discrimination or harassment (race, age, gender, disability, pregnancy, and national origin), as well as claims under the FMLA, FLSA, breach of contract, state-law tort claims, and in labor arbitrations. Ms. Joffe represents both public and private employers from myriad industries. Her practice is nationwide and involves representation in federal court, state court, arbitration panels, and before administrative agencies.

Ms. Joffe also serves as a valuable asset to her clients by regularly providing advice and counsel on day-to-day or large scale human resources issues.  This includes workplace misconduct investigations, hiring, termination, discipline, and performance management decisions, policy development and implementation, attendance, disability accommodation, and leave requests.  Ms. Joffe’s assistance helps her clients run their businesses more smoothly, more consistently, and allows them to either avoid litigation, or places them in a better defense position in the event litigation ensues.

Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Ms. Joffe worked for three years as an Assistant District Attorney for the Cobb Judicial Circuit in metro-Atlanta, Georgia.  In this capacity she handled hundreds of felony prosecutions and acted as lead or sole counsel in approximately 40 jury trials.  She began as a general felony trial attorney and was subsequently promoted to a supervisory position, where she was responsible for supervising her unit and prosecuting all cases involving sexual and physical abuse crimes against children.

Since March of 2000, Ms. Joffe has been a faculty member and instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy Program (NITA).
