Biography
Ms. Hata is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and is a member of Seyfarth’s Business Services Department. Ms. Hata has extensive experience in representing multinational companies, including U.S., European and Asian clients, in business structuring and advice, corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, securitizations, and lending and financing arrangements.
Ms. Hata advises clients with respect to strategic alliances, internal company management and operations, and business affairs. She also advises business clients in connection with the expansion of their operations and the establishment and management of subsidiaries and affiliates in the U.S. and abroad, including structuring and tax planning coordination and advice with respect to cross-border operations and business activities.
Ms. Hata has represented regulated entities, including insurance companies, in connection with the acquisition and disposition of assets (located in the U.S. and abroad), the analysis and advice relating to the acquisition and disposition of investment securities, and regulatory aspects relating to such transactions.
Ms. Hata is fluent in Japanese and has a thorough understanding of Japanese business practices and protocol. Ms. Hata represents Japan-based clients in the U.S., as well as non-Japan based clients in connection with their investments and business transactions in Japan.
