Biography

Daniel Delaney is a staff attorney in the Wage & Hour Litigation Practice Group in Seyfarth Shaw’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Delaney’s practice focuses on the defense of class, collective, hybrid and individual actions under California and federal employment laws in state and federal courts.

Mr. Delaney has many years of experience representing domestic and foreign employers in court litigation and administrative proceedings involving a wide range of legal claims and defenses. He has handled the defense of actions involving class claims for improper exemption misclassification, violations of California and federal wage and hour statutes, failure to pay overtime and minimum wages, improper bonus plans, failure to pay proper commissions, failure to pay statutory penalties, and attorney’s fees and costs. Mr. Delaney has also defended employers in numerous actions involving claims for wrongful termination, harassment, and retaliation, including cases involving discrimination claims based upon race, gender, and disability, and involving, among other things, alleged employer violations of Title II, Title VII, FEHA, ADA, ADEA, and public policy.

In addition to wage and hour class actions and other forms of employment litigation, Mr. Delaney also has extensive prior experience in real estate and banking litigation, corporate and partnership dissolutions, intellectual property and tax litigation, and other forms of business and commercial litigation.
