Biography
Ms. Salem works in the San Francisco office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP in the firm's International Labor & Employment practice.
Ms. Salem's work encompasses all issues arising from the requirements of international employment laws, including: termination disputes; workforce restructures and redundancy programs; employment-related compliance issues; the development, review and implementation of contractual documents for employees and other workers such as offer letters, employment contracts, contractor agreements, proprietary information agreements; and other employment-related documents for countries outside the United States.
Her recent work has been focused on assisting employers handle large-scale multi-country employment law projects including compliance projects and the development of employee handbooks and policies.
Previous work experience
Prior to working in law Ms. Salem worked as a senior human resources practitioner. Her work included: organizational business planning; consultation and negotiation with various unions; the development and drafting of collective agreements; the development and implementation of performance management systems; recruiting and staffing for senior or strategic roles within the business; ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory provisions; counseling managers and employees about performance issues; working with the business to develop strategies for retaining talent within the business; implementing human resources management systems; company wide policy development and implementation; compensation and benefits; daily coaching and development of managers; working with the business on succession planning; and leading and/or participating in various company wide employment related projects.
