“We Should Pitch In”

Gerry Skoning’s Op-Ed, “We Should Pitch In” was published in the October 8, 2007 issue of the National Law Journal. In his piece, Gerry notes, “We lawyers shouldn’t just sit by and watch our clients set the trends; we ought to pitch in and ‘go green,’ or at least greener in our own practices as well.”

Gerry offers lawyers several tips to help make their practices more earth-friendly, including: using both sides of legal pads, perusing decisions on computer screens to see if they are useful before printing them out, being “brief… or at least try to be briefer” in briefs, and the courts’ use of electronic court filings should sharply reduce paper waste in litigation.
