Allegra Rich was quoted in the article, “Competition Heats Up for Cream of Pro Bono Cases,” published in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin on April 17, 2008. The article examines the controversy concerning law firms paying some pro bono agencies in order to be considered for their choicest cases.

Allegra noted, "It would be unfortunate if a lawyer with specialized expertise that could help someone in need did not get connected with a potential client because the lawyer's law firm did not make the required financial contribution to the referral agency." She further remarked that Seyfarth Shaw focuses on building relationships with pro bono agencies through working as volunteer attorneys for the groups and serving as board members or trainers, and that “the more involvement ... the more likely we are to support the organization financially."
