Jerry Maatman was quoted in the article, "Explosion of class action lawsuits focus on wage and hour violations," which appeared in the November 6, 2007 issue of Business Insurance. The article points out that allegations of misclassifying employees as exempt from overtime and not paying for off-the-clock work hours continues to result in multimillion-dollar settlements and verdicts against employers. Jerry notes that, "It's probably the leading exposure right now for employers in the U.S., even more than employment discrimination," and he estimates that five to seven wage and hour class action lawsuits are brought every day in Cook County, Ill.
