“An Inconvenient Guilt: Confessions of a Carbon Bigfoot”
Gerry Skoning’s article, “An Inconvenient Guilt: Confessions of a Carbon Bigfoot,” was published in the Sunday, November 18, 2007 issue of the Chicago Tribune.
In his piece, Gerry writes that although “going green is all the rage, and an admirable one at that,” the green “movement has laid a major guilt trip on all Americans.” He notes that that the “’sustainability’ mantra now has me agonizing over everything,” including “the unseasonably warm days we enjoyed in October.” Addressing the green movement, he says, “We hear your message about environmental stewardship loud and clear, but enough with the hysteria and guilt. Guilt can lead to paralysis. And that is the last thing the green movement needs.”
