02/03/2010
Leon Sequeira's arrival to the Washington, D.C. office of Seyfarth Shaw was featured in the February 3, 2010 Employment Law360 article, "Seyfarth Snags Another Labor Department Hire." The article noted that Leon, former Assistant Secretary of Labor for Policy, has joined the firm's labor and employment department, building upon the firm's growing number of hires with extensive backgrounds in federal work force policy development. According to the article, Leon joins on the heels of former Assistant Secretary of Labor Victoria Lipnic and former acting Administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division Alexander Passantino. Leon told Employment Law360 that Seyfarth was “hands-down the best choice and the best fit for me.” He explained that he looks forward to advising clients on policy matters, noting the increased interest in possible new regulation emerging out of Washington under the Obama administration. Leon added, “Certainly as Washington increases its oversight and regulatory efforts, more clients are interested in learning how Washington works and how these decisions are made."
