Gerald Skoning Published in the Chicago Tribune "A message to all those mocking McCain's age: Oh, grow up!"

Gerald Skoning's article, "A message to all those mocking McCain's age: Oh, grow up," was published in the July 20, 2008 issue of the Chicago Tribune. In the article, Gerry discusses how age discrimination and harassment are illegal in the workplace, but not politics.  "Sen. John McCain's age (he's only 71, for goodness' sake)," Gerry explains, "is a nagging issue in his presidential campaign, enough so that McCain age jokes have become a hackneyed staple of late-night television."

Although the law is clear when it comes to employment, politics are entirely different. Gerry concludes that "it's time for all Americans; pundits, comedians and the vast electorate alike; to get off the age-bashing bandwagon and focus attention on the urgent issues facing our nation."
