Seyfarth Shaw Attorney Steven J. Pearlman Named Co-Chair of Anti-Defamation League Civil Rights Committee

Chicago, IL (December 10, 2007)—Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full service law firms, today announced that Steven J. Pearlman, a Chicago-based lawyer in the firm’s labor and employment department, has been named Co-Chair of the Civil Rights Committee for the Greater Chicago/Upper Midwest Region of the Anti-Defamation League.

“I am honored by the opportunity to lead my colleagues on the Civil Rights Committee of ADL’s Greater Chicago/Upper Midwest region,” said Pearlman. “We look forward to working with our national ADL counterparts toward the fulfillment of its mission to eradicate bias and discrimination against people of all races and religions. To that end, our work is as much needed today as when ADL was founded nearly 100 years ago.”

The ADL Civil Rights Committee comprises both attorneys and non-attorneys. It considers a variety of issues, some of which originate locally, involving discrimination, bias crimes, hate groups, church-state matters, fact-finding, legislative and legal matters. On ADL national policy issues, the Greater Chicago/Upper Midwest regional committee's observations and recommendations are referred to the national Executive Committee for further consideration.
