Brian Ashe Quoted in The Recorder
"Class Action Ruling an Earthquake for California Litigation"

Seyfarth Shaw partner Brian Ashe was quoted in The Recorder on April 27 in an article about AT&T Mobility v. Concepcion which discussed lawyers' reactions to the outcome of the case. While some attorneys predicted huge, practice-altering impacts, Brian and others said it would not bring about the end of class actions.

Brian said he viewed the ruling as a "clarion call for employers, especially in California, that are facing wage-and-hour, Title 7 and other class actions."

"I think it's going to be just fine for business," he said. Brian didn't expect litigation to decline in the next couple of years. "There's an entire industry built around this area of law. The agreements aren't out there."
